We settled into the hum of life in Milton, nestled in the Clutha District. The days took on a steady rhythm—children tumbling between Kindy and farm life, the land shaping our routines as much as we shaped it. It was here we welcomed our third child, adding another layer of joy (and a little more chaos) to our growing family.

As the seasons rolled on, so did the paperwork. Farming and business both seemed to generate more bookwork each year, and I found myself deepening my understanding of financial systems almost by necessity. But I didn’t want to just keep up—I wanted to keep growing. So I enrolled in further studies, not chasing a degree, but seeking challenge and clarity. I’ve always found satisfaction in learning, especially when it sharpens the tools I use to help others.

I also stepped into Treasurer roles for both our local Kindergarten and our Church. Each environment had its own rhythm, its own quirks, and I loved the variety. It stretched me, taught me, and reminded me that bookkeeping isn’t just about numbers—it’s about trust, stewardship, and making things work for people.

Sharemilking in Clutha wasn’t just a job—it was a season of connection. We built relationships that still warm my heart, and felt deeply part of a community that knows how to show up for one another. Clutha has that in spades.

Milton was where situation became opportunity. The next chapter? It’s where those small steps begin to shape something bigger.
